STEAMWORKS– Berkeley, through the work of our Director of Health Information and Education Programs (HIEP), Nirmalpal Sachdev. has developed a wealth of resources and appropriate referral options with info on HIV and STD prevention and treatment, fitness, nutrition, diet, mental and emotional wellness and substance use and abuse.
Steamworks ongoing in-house partnerships with Berkeley Public Health, Asian Health Services, The Berkeley Free Clinic (GMHC), coupled with research based collaborative efforts with the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) and the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) insure that Steamworks is always well positioned to provide knowledge, insight and answers to the complex questions surrounding men's health issues. The backdrop and availability of free services that have been in place at Steamworks Berkeley since the early 1980's further enhance our long standing commitment towards making Steamworks a safe, secure and non-judgmental venue for men to meet men.
