STEAMWORKS – Toronto is our first experience
working under a government who doesn’t see gays
and lesbians as villains. It’s amazing to think
that the entire government here accepted our assertion
that the baths could be used as a means of reaching
people in the community who are sexually active and
getting them information and testing services they need
so they can lead healthy sexual lives. We’re especially
proud to know that in some small way Steamworks was
a part in Toronto adopting bathhouse-friendly legislation.

We have a dedicated group of community volunteer from
agencies that do in-house Outreach, providing free condoms,
lube, demo, brochures, info and referrals … groups
like ACT and Hassle Free Clinic. Partnering with the
city of Toronto and ACT Steamworks is also taking the
lead in addressing another issue destroying our community
– crystal meth. Steamworks has long practiced
a Zero Tolerance Policy for Drugs and Alcohol.
Steamworks Toronto has a huge resource center where
you can get info on mental & emotional wellness,
workout routines, nutrition, safer/smart sex, STDs,
alcohol & drug abuse, recreational drug use, HIV/AIDS,
the newest AIDS drugs, etc. The cool thing about Steamworks
is our approach to all this stuff is very reality based.
We don’t preach, we don’t judge. We provide
facts and we explore consequences. We help you make
informed decisions, and we help you deal with your decisions.
